HEALTH

At Seaways, we ensure that our crew, sub-contractors and third parties comply with international health regulations.
Further, we provide a healthy working environment with the appropriate level of health surveillance and support and compliance checks as per COSHH. All task and business assignments take due consideration to health and keeping our employees’ health risk to minimum by providing adequate resources and prioritizing welfare.

Health Objectives Include:

  • Working according to applicable health laws, codes and regulations
  • Provide procedures to Control the health risks arising from our work activities
  • Excellent medical care available on all fleet vessels to ensure health checkups are performed
  • Promote and maintain a positive health culture by participating in drills etc.

SAFETY

Safety is a core value and a top priority at Seaways. Our objective is for ZERO accidents and ZERO incidents. We have implemented a robust Safety Management System that complies with the International Code for the Safe Management of Ships and Prevention of Pollution. Furthermore,

  • Our Fleet vessels are fully MLC 2006 certified and staff recruited are STCW compliant
  • Our offshore fleet vessels are OVMSA/OVID Compliant
  • We actively pursue continuous improvement and the development of industry-wide best operating practices. For example, our QHSE Roving Marine Superintendents frequently sail on our vessels to ensure the highest level of safety and environmental standards are maintained
  • We adopt best practices such as Behavior Based Safety (BBS) reporting and Seagull CBT Training program, and all our personnel has the right and duty to stop any unsafe work practices
  • At Seaways, we have a Zero Alcohol Policy, furthermore ~90% of our crew onboard our vessels are smoke-free. We have a smoke-free campaign at Seaways to encourage our crew to quit smoking to promote greater safety

ENVIRONMENT

Seaways International gives special importance to environmental protection and avoidance of pollution at sea. Our fleet always maintains the highest standards required by the Classification and Port State Control authorities.

Some of our environmental initiatives:

  • A modern and fuel-efficient fleet: We are continuing to invest in a fleet of modern and fuel-efficient vessels. For example, our newest vessel Seaways 24 is equipped with diesel-electric propulsion system, which is particularly economical in terms of energy
  • Waste management: We have implemented a waste management policy and have executed proper waste management practices on board all vessels complying with MARPOL requirements
  • Pollution management: We have made a commitment to conserve and protect the environment, and we strive to prevent accidental spills of pollutants. Our Seaways 20 and Seaways 24 meet the Enviro + Green Passport classification requirements, and furthermore, our Seaways 16, Seaways 20, Seaways 22 and Seaways 24 are classified ‘Oil Recovery’ vessels, indicating they are equipped to recover and store pollutants released at sea
